    Aftermarket fairing kits from China

    Hi guys,

Has anyone bought any of the aftermarket fairing kits from China advertised on Ebay?

I've got a '96 GSXR750 SRAD which needs tidying up & there's a couple of companies on there offering kits for these bikes in all sorts of colour schemes.

One company has the kits for about AUD $290.00 plus about $300.00 freight & another mob has them for $420.00 plus $40.00 freight.

I was going to get my panels painted but by the time I do that & then get the stickers done it's probably going to be cheaper to replace them?

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers, Andy

You'll find that they are all pretty much the same.

Their quality has improved but they are overall, in general still quite shit.

If I had a common bike that needed some fairings after a crash then this is the route I would go.

Considering you have a GSXR 750 SRAD, I would be doing everything in my power to get it into the original condition while searching the globe for genuine parts.

Going the China fairing route will be cheaper, but you'll be able to tell.

Getting the thing fixed and painted up properly will cost more but the result will be worth it IMHO. Pop down to Motor Cycle Panel and Paint in Osbourne Park, and see what they can do for you.

I agree with Turbo - it's a 96 GSXR750 SRAD. Not exactly collectable, but certainly a classic of it's time.

I wonder if Mattpack still has any parts laying around - I think he ended up buying mine after it had done a few rounds.

I half regret ever letting mine go.

Please to post photos of your bike.

There’s also the vinyl wrap option. Cheaper than painting and can have whatever livery scheme you want.

I recently got a advertisement on Facebook for this place:
    https://www.facebook.com/AuMotorFairing/

I really don't know much about them and there isn't a lot of info available on their page so they could be dodgy.

I bought a set for a 07 R1 for track days in case I laid it over. Double triple check ratings on eBay as say 96% is pretty poor, nearly 1 in 20 not happy. Check the reviews for non delivery or quality issues. I have a couple preferred that have high volume sales and over 98% rating. Check across the globe for second hand that might just need some simple fixes to get back to 100%. Good luck!

I bought some from auctmart. Quality seemed OK. But on a trackday coming over the hill my left side fairing snapped amd hit me on the arm. That same day someone on an R1 lost a couple of aftermarket fairings too.

May be fine for street use but bear in mind they're not OEM-quality fairings.
