Riders without a garage: How do you cover your bike?

    Hey guys,

Just got my first bike recently and I don't have a garage or any cover at my house. I've bought a cover from supercheap to keep it out of the rain, but I've just gone out and checked and the bike is damp even though the cover is meant to be water proof.
What do you guys use to cover your bike? Has anyone used a bike tent such as this?: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motorcyc...-/262868012481

Iíve got an Oxford Stormex cover. Top of the line and is padded inside so wonít rub if the wind picks up. Havenít had any moisture inside the cover.

Bring it into the loungeroom and practice your moves
Life is NOT a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: "Wahoo!! What a ride!"

Both my bikes are covered in these :-

Similar to the tent you have, but without the poles. Fully enclosed so no nasties can crawl in. I haven't tested in the rain (as they live in a shed), but is supposed to be waterproof. I little bit more expensive than the tent though.

For your situation - I quite like the tent you have found.

Cheers guys, I think I'll grab one of the tents seeing as they're around the same price as the covers you have mentioned. I'm looking to squeeze in a colorbond shed in the not too distant future.
Was too keen to buy a bike without thinking of these things, haha. Thanks for the help!

One thing you can find with covers is that if it is right out in the open, and the ground the bike sits on is wet, even though the bike didn't get wet from rain, with rapid temperature change (overcast/cloudy, to sudden sun on the cover and vice versa) condensation can form on the inside of the cover, and also on the bike as well. Especially anywhere the cover touches the bike.

Why not just get a shed?

Small sheds can be bought off Gumtree very cheaply...

I got a 3m x 3m proper framed shed with roller door off the FB Perth beer economy for 2 cartons of Jack Daniels cans, $200...
