    Exhaust options

Anyone got an XSR900 running with SC Project or Akra full titanium exhausts? Any advice on which to install?

    Open to other makes!

    Cheers!

SC Project has a local representative, who does all of Australia and Oceania. He's also a nice guy to boot and one of our sponsors. Best service in town and best advice. RRossi has some of his products in his shop.

I have the Akra titanium full system, no baffle.

I've seen the SC project on other peoples' XSR900s and it looks great. They sound interchangeably similar to my ears.

They're both good options, go with whichever you think looks better. Any full system on this bike (with no baffle) will be very loud and you'll want earplugs for rides longer than 15 minutes.

Trying to think of a wise and sincere signature quote, but the only words that leap to mind are, "TITTY SPRINKLES"

Holy smokes thread revival. I'm on a MT-09 but have the Akra Ti as I liked the tucked look. Paired this with a Rizoma MT-09 and stripped the rear pillion pegs for a nice clean look.

If anything, I'd suggest trawling Youtube and have a listen to see if that's the sound you like. I will say that baffle out on the Akra Ti is very very loud. I ended up swapping in an Akra baffle of the RC8 which fits and reduces the drone without muffling it too much like the included baffle.

Speaking of exhausts, anyone have a stock set of MT09 / XSR900 headers I could borrow? Wouldn't mind seeing if they'd fit my XS850 as a cheaper upgrade before forking out for a custom job...

Yer that's a point. Think you are right it's a single piece.

That's why we kept them, along with all the factory stuff. Ease of swapping back.

The Akra ti on my MT09 is bloody loud with he baffle out but i like it. I wear earplugs anyway. You can put the baffle in if you like but IMHO it might as well be stock at that point. Some guys cut 2" off the baffle to get a good noise level. I like blue flames though. You're welcome to give mine a listen. I'll just drive within 3 or 4 blocks of your house and it should give you a good impression.

You should check out the RC8 baffle. It's kind of like a balance between, still gives it a nice bark, without as much of the buffeting drone.

It slots straight in, just can't find a photo of it fitted at the moment. Part code is K69005283020 and cost me 30 GBP landed to AU.

But does it still shoot blue flames? Not shooting flames would be a deal breaker for me
