    William Dunlop

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but William Dunlop has passed away at the skerries this weekend. I am not going to write a eulogy but some details are on this link.
    RIP William

Michael will have a bit of a fatalistic outlook if he didn't have one before.
Three legend's in one family all passed away and all close to him.
    RIP William Dunlop.

They didn't " pass away", they died as a result of injuries sustained as the result of a motorcycle crash. It may sound brutal, but the facts often are. For racers that is just a fact of life. It can happen. It's tragic, yes, but always a possibility and they race knowing this cold hard fact!

Although I dig where you are coming from, it's ok to be sensitive to the supernaturalists.

If they would like to think the dead person has moved somewhere else, that's fine and some even know they don't actually go somewhere but do not exist anymore

Death semantics are usually ok pubchat but when someone actually dies... Yeah, nah.

Although I'm not sure if there are other siblings, I hope there are and they too get into it.

Would have been great family BBQ's

I'm pretty sure that 'Passed away ' is the correct term, for anyone who's life ends.

This is a man who was dedicated to the sport of motor cycle racing...as a collective we have empathy for those he has left behind.

One chapter closes, another opens...azzal has said the family legacy should carry on...legend racer from an equally race committed family..no quarter.

    He was a Dunlop ,
They tend to both find fame and die from motorcycle racing.
Not sure if you intended to sound like a twat .
But it came across this way.
I will be happy to take the lost in translation side of things.

Is it really the time for an argument over semantics? I'm sure all of your insight on the risks of roadracing isn't lost on Michael Dunlop. You know, the bloke that won the race that his father died in the practice for, two days later. I don't think any roadracer needs your help to understand the realities of the sport. They all know, they all do it anyway. They are the bravest of the brave and the hardest men to ever throw a leg over a bike but that doesn't mean we can't tread lightly when talking about it for the sake of those left behind.

Its not that widely popular in the grand scheme of things....even the TT as popular as it is not everyone knows about it.
(Which has changed slightly in recent times thanks to closer to the edge.)

Your talking about the North West 200 ?

Second most famous road race in the world.
Personal favourite of mine so I am biased.
