    Rugged smartphones

Howdy all. Just curious if any other riders are using a 'rugged' smartphone? The marketing pics look appealing:

There's quite a few products on the market, and they seem pretty interesting to me as they address some of the common frustrations that I experience with phones and bikes. Namely:

    -They're drop proof
    -Waterproof (not 'water resistant')
    -Usually hardcore battery life
-The screens work with gloves on/in the wet
-Usually have physical buttons for major functions

I'm looking at midrange models, with these as my shortlist:
    CAT s31 series - 360-400 aud
kyocera dura force pro - 200-300 aud
    unihertz atom - 230-300 usd
lg X venture - not sure on the price

Sonim, land rover, and energizer also make some phones in this category but they're either out of my price range or have older operating systems which will probably suck because I'm a millenial. If anyone has used any of these phones or similar, I'd be interested to hear your experiences and feedback. Cheers.

My Cat S60 survived coming out of my pocket on the road at plus 60.

Grazed ali bevel case and gravel impact and scrapes over the screen cover but no screen damage.

Waterproof in rain but not tested dropping into water but rated to do so.

If the S31 is built the same, it'd be tough.

I'm rough on phones, water, dropping from waist hight - spent a fortune on phones in the past

    I bought a ulefone armor 2 http://ulefone.com/products/armor2/features.html

its ugly and a little heavy but fuck its tough and priced well.

I would recommend - china's off brand phones are getting good
