    Motorcycle friendly accommodation down south?

    Hey Everyone,

I did an overnight trip earlier this year (see https://www.perthstreetbikes.com/for...=1#post3389080) and I absolutely loved it. Now I'm planning out v2 and thinking about accommodation. I know I can't be the only one on PSB who enjoys going down south for a few nights so its got me wondering, is there any accommodation that you recommend as being particularity bike friendly? Or just generally awesome due to location/cost/benefits etc?

Right now I'm just looking at AirBNB, Booking.com and of course good old Google but would love some first hand recommendations. Camping isn't something I want to take up just yet but if I keep doing these trips I can easily see a loaded up klr650 in my future! Also if there are any roads or locations you recommend I'm happy to hear about them.

    Cheers

Hey Known, I can't suggest anything. But this morning I spotted a group of about 20 - 30 dual-sport bikes headed out of Sawyers, all loaded up with panniers, so the answer may not be accomodation but the possibility of accomodation or staying dry with what you've got. Anyway I'm ready to upgrade to a dual sport and find out. Cheers

Yeah I see dual sports cruising along Great Eastern Highway pretty frequently. I like the idea of getting one but right now my budget and physical space doesn't stretch out.

I'm doing this on my zx10r, which worked out surprisingly well last time. I got to enjoy all the twisties on a very capable bike and all the power meant I could easily over take any rolling road blocks I came across.

Have stayed at Best Western, 41 Frederick St Albany. Motorcycle friendly with parking tucked inside the complex around the garden (although not locked in).
Short walk to Earl of Spencer pub, Rustlers Steakhouse and more.

And while not so south, Wave Rock Motel in Hyden, off street bike parking outside rooms. Good bar, bistro and restaurant.

    Motorcycle friendly accommodation down south?

The Collie Ridge hotel in Collie. Tell them your on a bike and they’re happy to change your room to one that you can park right outside the door. Food is pretty good too.

Now that is good to know! Might keep that in mind for the next track day!

Many moons ago (c.2012) if you told them you were there for a track day they gave you a discount.

Check out the road from Williams to boyup brook via Lake Towerinning:

Have done that trip every year for the better part of 20yrs and every time thinking would be great fun on a bike. Great left and right sweepers, country roads and generally speaking in great condition. Take a breather at the lake before heading on to boyup brook

Thank you! I always appreciate a Google Maps link. I've been playing around with various routes and just so happened to be contemplating heading that direction on the last day back up to Perth.

My parents live around lake towerrinning, definitely worth a look. Stop at dinninup and have a look at the old store while you’re passing through. http://i.imgur.com/5GtS3yo.jpg
