What time of year and how many flat tyres might I ask
REPENT MOTHER FUCKER
(anarchy in english )
Last week and 2 flat tyres. Both from Kalbarri to Perth. None on the rocky stuff where I thought I would have trouble. I only got the flat as I accepted an inferior tube from a dealer who changed the tyre. If I had of used my normal thicker tubes I would have been fine.

Well done!
Trying to think of a wise and sincere signature quote, but the only words that leap to mind are, "TITTY SPRINKLES"
You’re doing what I only wish I could do. Good stuff
Rest in Peace

Watched the youtube preview & I'm subscribed! Hope more people are attracted to your channel.
Drone & video quality is as good as anything Ronnie Dahl or 4X Overland would post. (Yeah, also like 4WD's)
Route probably is appropriate for both disciplines.
Thank you for posting.
Haha thanks, Spread the word.I must have hit the big time to be compared to Ronny. I also watch his stuff. I like it. Its a little raw, and no super produced. Makes you feel like you are there. He films it as it happens, and just doesnt go after the perfect cinematic shot every time. Ronnys is more about the story than the art. I like this style.
On the bike its a bit more restricting. Harder to take gimbals Mirrorless etc. And I film as a secondly thing, and often forget to as I get tied up in what is going on. Then I dont spend nearly enough time of editing and production. I just dont have the time. Editing can take up days.
Thanks for taking a look.
Part 4 of my Karijini/Wittenoom solo adventure bike ride..
This takes me from Tom Price to Kalbarri, via the backroads, Kennedy Range, Gascoyne Junction and the Murchison settlement.

Really enjoyed these videos, brings home how lucky we are here in WA with all those roads waiting to be explored.

J.J great vids buddy, living the dream if you can get the time to do trips like this..
For my knowledge (and probably others), can you tell us a bit about why you chose the Klr over a DR650, v-strom, big bore adv bike etc? Weight of gear you carry, and tyre pressures for slab, dirt and speeds you usually use on both? Is the gearing standard or a bit longer for the long slab bits?
Keep it up mate, nice work.
sS
Why the KLR?
I had a Kawasaki so I had a relationship with the dealer. Its fitted the requirements, dimple and easy to fic at home and on the road, could carry a load and had fuel range. The DR is the same. I would consider one of these if I wanted a similar bike. You need to mod the DR quite a bit to make it adventure ready.
My next bike will be a bigger bore, probably a Honda AT, but I will keep the KLR for the gnarly stuff.
Tyre pressure?
Hard on the Tar, 40 psi +. off rod and gravel I run around 18 to 20 PSI front, and around 25 PSI in the rear depending on load. I have 4mm thick tibes in both and rim locks. I will go a lot lower if I have to.
Weight?
I haven't weighted it for a while, but when I went to the centre of Oz it weighed around 280 Kgs with all extra water/food, fuel, spares and camping gear to be off the grid for a good length of time.
The gearing?
is standard, I tried taller gearing, but it made it crap on the low end so I went back to original. Its the best compromise. Its needs a 6th gear.
Camping?
I use light weight tent (then you can put you gear in it), light weight blow up mattress, down sleeping bag, use a jet boil for cooking/food. Self inflating pillow.
cant believe i hadnt gone into this thread before, but great job man, thats some quality vids there. this is the exact reason i bought the v-strom a few years back but as said, back then and right now i cant easily find the time. maybe in a few years,
inspiration stuff![]()
I cant help it if your perceptions don't match my reality
I spent 8 years working without taking any leave. Now I try and take some from time to time to extend weekends etc to get a good ride or drive in. I have about 6 months of leave in the bank, and HR started asking me to reduce it a far while ago. I paid some out, but will keep the rest in the bank as I am planning on taking a lot more.. Its what I worked 8 years straight with out any, to be able to do![]()
