RACERS Track action Barbagallo $20 fee

Track Action are charging an extra $20 blanket charge on behalf of WASCC for use of a powered car port. That is why prices have gone up. The WASCC have agreed to refund you if you are a WASCC member.

    ****************************************
    https://www.trackaction.com.au/about

    Track action

    "Western Australia powered carport hire

Track Action has not increased its fees by $20 per bike .

    What’s the $20 for then?

When we started out on this process the point was discussed that some ride day customers prefer to use their own pop-ups instead of renting a carport. To be fair to those people it was decided between WASCC and Track Action that those customers wishing to use a carport could make their own arrangements with the club as the club is already set up to deal with the renting of the carports and the fee would be $20 per bike per event. This is entirely fair because the club not only paid to have these carports built; but also for the electricity that our customers consume with their tyre warmers etc."

Just an excuse for them to charge an extra $20 because they have a monopoly on the track. Doesn’t change my low opinion of track action
    Rest in Peace

Agreed. It is WASCC that is charging the $20.

Maybe charge an extra $10 if people start retelling stories of Bunbury in the 80s

I would rather not get dragged deep into the matters that lay behind this current monopoly/free-market/situation as you can read through the countless other threads, as you no doubt have, to see that this is not a simple matter.

Is it an example of a free market? I'd leave that up to the uni students and market economists to debate.

Not really, more like gambling on not needing insurance if something goes wrong, screwing the local providers, and providing a poorer service than what was originally on offer. Plus, all the profits are going over east instead of being redistributed among local racers.

Sounds more like a fascist dictatorship than a free market.
    Rest in Peace

That should be a public flogging.

They wont be getting any of my money.

I thoroughly enjoy heading down to Collie. The whole journey as well as the destination. I made a commitment to myself to 'make the time' to get down there once a month. I really look forward to it. It's food for my soul.

I've retired from racing, especially off-road. I hurt myself too much and my old body doesn't recover like it use to. I'm not as race fit as you young fellas.
I go to Collie to either do coaching or a relaxing track day. I like focusing on learning a single track. At least until I either get fast or get sick of it.
I get out trail riding with a few friends as often as I can. I prefer the slow, technical stuff these days. I've even been playing with the idea of getting a trials bike.

Hey, I'll have you know I retired at the pinnacle of my career. Plus, I don't want to steal all your trophies.
I've got nothing to prove to myself or anyone. I'll leave you kids to have your fun.
I lay concrete for a job and kick box 3 times a week. I'm not in peak physical condition but I wouldn't exactly say I'm soft.
