Bit of oil in coolant reservoir... Experiences?

Anyone had experience of this and the cause of it? Thinking a minor head gasket leak? Bike is a 2010 R1.
    Any advice would be appreciated!

Had the same in my KTM. It was the water pump seal. KTM is a bit notorious for these but it was relatively easy to replace.

Hmmm.. Looks like that is a decent job to replace the water pump seal on the 09+ R1s

If you want to do it yourself I would recommend to get the repair manual. Worst thing with the R1 is that you need small Japanese children hands to get to the bolts and parts. On the other hand you don't need to change 3(!) oil filters like I had to do.

Yeah I've got the service manual. I do pretty much all the work myself but this is going to pretty time consuming. $90 just in seals and o-rings for the water pump alone.. not sure I'll be able to justify paying for someone to do the labour given how simple a job it is. Hoping it's just the water pump seal and nothing more sinister (I'd be shocked if it was though..)
