    Show me the testing!

Will be keeping an eye on Mir on the Suzuki and Zarco on the KTM.
I'm pretty impressed with those two machines at the moment.

I don't think they're that far away from being regulars on the podium.

Lorenzo looked pretty happy on the Honda.
1.5 seconds off the pace - but his body language on and off the bike said volumes.

He's still not 100% from his previous crashes.

I really like the matt black on the Honda, maybe they could add a couple of light stripes in Repsol colours and leave it at that? Leathers as well, would really differentiate the bikes.

Yeah I thought Lorenzo looked pretty comfortable on it - didn't look awkward. He finished 18th after day one but I had forgotten he's not 100%. Thing is, given he's still contracted to Ducati he can't say shit about the bike. Calendar year contracting has to be the most stupid thing - it should be seasonal then they don't have to seek permission to take part in the tests immediately after the last race and can talk about the bike. I think Ducati gave permission for some tests but not all.

Do you reckon they have their new team leathers already made up - and they wear them while they sitting on the couch watch TV?

Loving this guy right now. This sort of stuff is the best reason to watch testing IMO.

Went straight to the website and bought his book as soon as he mentioned it. I think I was paying more attention to him than I did during the racing.

This is where it's silly - assuming the same turnover of riders over the same period, there's no advantage/disadvantage to teams. Team A may prohibit a rider that is leaving the to go to Team B/C/whatever, to test, but the team of the new incoming rider from Team B may prohibit their rider to test for Team A.

So you are saying people are silly?

    Interesting concept.

Personally i think its more to do with advertising... Ducati and other sponsors probably still have ads running with JL in them so they dont want photos of him on a honda etc...

But they just say its about the racing.

Bright side though is that we for a few days a year get to see some cool designs on the bikes.

A post I saw from another forum.

This could be really bad for the rest of the field if true.

It was great to see Rabat out there being competitive in his current state and I loved seeing Folger returning as well. Hopefully he can get past any lingering health issues and make it back to the grid full time.

Sure, but make the contract season to season rather than year to year. Then riders switching teams could be displaying their new sponsors without issue. Surely there has to be a reason I'm missing for yearly contracts rather than aligning with the end of the 2018 season/start of 2019 (i.e. now) through to the end of the 2019/start of the 2020 season.
