I had a camera on my bike for two rides before I took it off. It didn't make sense to me as it seemed like it's just something to prove I speed (as per the 'WA Police' definition of 1kmh over).

FWIW the vloggers who know what they're doing can be entertaining at times, but I agree regarding the 'I just got my P plates' types.

This is the double-edged sword of recording with a helmet mounted cam. You might deter people from screwing with you by wearing or pointing to it, but god help you when the plod sees it after pulling you over for speeding and asks for a copy.

However, the integrated cameras from word of mouth work pretty well, and something I'd prefer over overtly recording.

Sorry Officer the batteries went flat yesterday.
But you're welcome to get a warrant anyway.
I wonder what the legal technicalities are about rider's cam, I certainly wouldn't just hand it over.
The only thing wrong with a perfect ride to work is that you end up at work.

Fuck the forward facing camera, I want a rear facer. Saw a YouTube clip of s bloke that had his mirrors modified. One was a gps and one was the screen of a rear facing camera that he had. Both modes could be turned off so they just acted as ordinary mirrors.
But looking online I found a rear facing unit with a 3 inch screen that will fit nicely under the screen on my SV. Will come in handy for seeing whoís behind me. With a bit of luck itíll make the mirrors obselelet and give me extra warning of 99s approaching. $45. Canít go wrong at that price.

The 2009 MAD Raffle bike had a system like that, where there was a rear facing camera an a screen instead of mirrors.

I can't find any images of it I'm afraid. But that was nearly 10 years ago. By now you would be able to get a higher definition system that would be gyro stabilised making it much easier to look at even when going around a corner.

But you wouldn't be able to put it together for $45. Maybe $1045+.

Without a "fork cam", would not have this footage.

I call this, spot the cow.

I have some other footage that will be spot the roo if we can clean it up enough. It is just a blur at the moment.

He was well behind me and did not have a cow galloping along on his left side.

Is actually the rear tyre stepping sideways and smoking according to rider B. That's the noise they make, you can hear it change tune when I see the car and apply more brake. Applied brakes when I saw the beast and then he went left and the car came into view.

Do any manufacturers of the so called sports cameras have an option for a remote operation and delete all files function.
One small button on your key and some pice of mind having such might sell a few more units IMO

No - it's a 3 inch screen - same as GPS - plenty big enough.
