    Mocool and water wetter

    Hi

I have just replaced my coolant with distilled water and 5% Mocool which is very similar to water wetter.

It costs less than antifreeze and improves cooling. It is not recommended for cold/ freezing climates as it doesnt have any anti freeze properties. It does have added chemicals that protect the engine, water pump and seals.

Does anyone know how often it needs to be replaced? I have sent Motul an email but not expecting a reply for a while.

    Thanks

Given you've only just replaced it, I would suggest that you not getting a reply for a while isn't really a problem.

Never used Mocool but water wetter is meant to be changed at least once a season. Iíve used it in all my track bikes.

Ethylene Glycol Doesn't give a replacement period though

Good idea. Just had a look at the msds.

SODIUM 2-ETHYLHEXANOATE is the main ingredient.

Can be mixed with most coolants monoethyleneglycol based..

Once a yr I will replace.
