    Plastic Welding

    Yo All

I need to find someone that does Plastic Welding of ABS-PC.

My Renault Megane interior door handle has broken & Renualt on sell the complete door card with handle for $1k+, fuck that.

When I bought the car s/h I got an extended warranty but it only covers major mechanical so I'm stuck getting this sorted myself.

I'm wondering if Potato does it, or maybe knows someone that does?

    Help me out here peeps.

    Ta muchly

I do not know about plastic welding and all ears on what is offered here. I found importing parts for my Renault came at a third of the price quoted by dealers here. Have you tried Aussiefrogs? Often there is advice there and contacts with second hand parts.

.. I've scouted around a bit worldwide, also a member of OZRenaultSport & a coupla others.

General opinion is ya gonna get reamed one way or another .. I find it astonishing that a part that takes a lot of wear & tear is tied to something that doesn't & then you have to buy both.\; if i was to buy one I'd remove the handle from the new one & install it on the old door card just to reduce the amount of aggravation, plus its a 10 minute fix instead of an hour of faffing about.

I'm looking at a coupla engineering options that could end up with me producing a repair kit if there is any demand, at around 1/4 to a 1/3 of the cost of the part from Renault, plus the handle is common across a few model & several years, it might be something that finds a niche. If it does I'd need to both LHD & RHD versions. Given its a repair kit & not a replacement no IP issues to deal with either.

they are making scooters again, there's a new agent provocateur here in Perth,

if you are chasing car interior parts ,i found an obscure dealer in middle Germany. google is your friend

$50 for a part the local useless, well, very young staff at the dealer here wanted around $1100 for

even the insurance company concerned caught their breath on that one.

if its a plastic interior handle get a new one, or get a 3d print one made.

repair on that stuff always ends badly.
