Hi Perth street bikers I have a 2011 Suzuki m109r I'm having trouble with it missing and running rough slight miss when idling from one exhaust replaced plugs ignition coils had it dynoed seems to get worse when hot and seems to loose power but if I give it sh&it seems to go ok if I sit on 100ks an hour misses and feels gutless I'm at a loss could it be the stator. Thanks for any thoughts.Rod

I know sweet FA about the electrics on modern bikes but the symptoms you describe sound to me like a faulty coil. They first begin malfunctioning under load.

I agree, but m109rod said he changed the coils.

That's what caused the above symptoms in my car...ran fine but once warm lost a heap of power. changed the COP and problem disappeared.

The stator "creates" electricity which then charges the battery. If your bike starts the next day then it probably wouldn't be the stator. (as greenmeanie has stated)

Is it EFI? intuition would say that if an injector was clogged, it would more likely cause problems when the engine is cold..but maybe, if the spray pattern is bad, it may cause it to idle ruff as the fuel isn't being sprayed down the intake but is being sprayed onto the intake manifold. With low air velocities, the fuel just stays there..at higher air velocities, the bad fuel spray pattern may less of a problem as the air carries the fuel into the cylinder.

If its carby, does it have a cold circuit? Cos that would be where I would be looking.

Have you checked the basics? Fuel filter, air filter, how old was/is the fuel...

Yep fuel filter or injector. If power commander etc fitted, could be the plug into injector loom. Could narrow it down to which cylinder first, then go through usual checks. No mention of how many km's is on it?

Having changed the coils, what's the state of your HT leads? or the wires and connections on the 12V side of the coils? corroded or frayed terminals can increase resistance, increase heat and lower the amount of voltage getting to your coils in the first place.
Trying to think of a wise and sincere signature quote, but the only words that leap to mind are, "TITTY SPRINKLES"
