Thank you all.
Thank you all.
Thanks for the kind words.
PS Dingo I don't do Hornets LOL
Hay Marty could you be the new PSB expert watch out Rob mite get up set
I AM THE PSB EXPERT "Joesph" PMSL
This will be a little long winded but hang in there, I DO think it's worth it.
I've been pretty unhappy with my bike since I bought it. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome, but just didn't handle like my 749. I was convinced it was the suspension, but didn't want to blame anything without having a chance to 'bond' with my new bike. I accepted that it would handle different because of the geometry, different tyres (height and profile), and a whole bunch of other stuff I don't understand. 6000kms later, slightly better - mostly cos I'd learnt to ride around its 'flaws', but was still far from happy with it.
BlackFZR says: Go see Marty Moose. Tim is a smart guy who in his own right has helped me a lot, but they are four of the most valuable words he has ever said to me.
I PM Marty and he says "come around Saturday night, that's convenient for me cos the wife is working and I'd rather do this while she is not here". He also provides me with a $ amount for his services. I'm happy with that, so we make it happen. Now plans change, Marty's wife isn't working anymore, she will be home, but he sticks to his deal and doesn't ask to re-schedule.
I rock up and just as another recent post mentioned, he is more than welcoming and instantly makes you feel like he wouldn't want to be doing anything else than help you, even though he is completely flat out, and wants to spend time with his family.
Marty didn't just make changes, he explained everything. Showed me used tyres and the effects of suspension on their wear (told me how shit Yamahas are - that's not the whole story but I'm leaving it there), made sure I knew where everything was, what it did and shared his experiences with me. He was very careful with my bike and masked off any areas that might get scratched during the setup. Made me part of the process rather than just a spectator.
So an hour later he says "take it for a wrap", explained a layout of the area and where I could put my 'new' bike through its paces. It only took two corners and a roundabout to appreciate what Marty had just done. COMPLETELY different bike! Loop back, pull into his drive and share my 'it's fucking awesome!' with him. You could just tell that he was excited to see another happy rider.
And that brings me to my plea.
I recently bought a seat cowl for my bike. It cost 4x as much as what Marty was asking. Yet, the colour is slightly wrong, it doesn't quite sit properly and it does absolutely nothing to effect my riding experience (a true aftermarket Ducati product ). I was more than happy therefore, to give Marty more than what he'd asked for without any hint of hesitation. It was met with a refusal... that was promptly ignored.
So, if you have the good fortune to ever meet Marty, and he works on your bike. Please, regardless of what he says is 'enough', place a value on what he has just done for you and how you will benefit, potentially years from now. The next time you whip around your favourite corner with that shit eating grin on your face, remember who made it possible. Compare it to a piece of bling that won't change your riding experience nearly as much, or how what he asks for won't even HALF fill a car with petrol!
Marty, you've got an awesome way about you and what you do for everyone can potentially make a huge difference to their riding experience. You're worth more than that mate! You too should keep what I said in mind. Thank you so much for your time, experience, patience and knowledge. I hope you DO take your wife out to dinner . Thankyou thankyou thankyou.

Oh great, how am I going to cope with his enlarged ego after he reads this post Rhino?
+1 to all Rhinos said though, Ive been to Marty to set up all my bikes when Ive first got them, both road and dirt, and the differences have been amazing.
I'll ask and wait patiently in line.
I know Ryan would have the same ideals of customer service and a good job as I, so I just have to find out.
PS. Rob is getting into bee keeping so know he is the PSBEE expert
Glad to see that stock exhaust is now gathering dust somewhere Kev, looks (and probably sounds and goes) a lot better now
Not for individual sale.
Noice I like it
Can't say enough nice things about Marty. A truely top bloke, and knows more about bikes than I know about computer games or weird 80's music.
+1 to everything Rhino said.
