I'm going to have a little extra cash towards the end of July/early August and I'm going to bite the bullet and finally buy an SSD, anyone have any recommendations?

I've read a few reviews and apparently the Samsung 860 Pro 1TB and the WD Blue 3D NAND are both quite good

I currently have the Samsung 850 EVO 500GB. I've had it a few years now and it's been my primary ssd in my last two builds. It is the older model but I really cannot fault it. The Samsung's have a very good reputation (SSD's at least, I can't stand their phones) and quite a good warranty in the rare case anything actually does go wrong with it. You might be able to save yourself some $$$ by going for a EVO instead of the PRO. Do your own research as to the differences between the series but I remember it being pretty marginal and not worth it IMO.

Have a look into SATA vs M.2 drives.

Most SSDs these days are faster than the SATA interface will allow.

M.2 from my understanding is directly connected to the PCI lanes and alot faster.

You are correct, M.2 is a lot faster than SATA however it does require a pretty new motherboard or a PCIe adapter. If it's just an upgrade for an existing computer I doubt it would have the slot, but definitely worth checking

Yarp, it's an older machine, built it just prior to the arrival of Venkman Junior and has served me well, she's now at that age where an upgrade is well overdue, hopefully around christmas is when i'll be able to afford it

Ordered new laptop for "work" salary sacrifice... AP department didnt pay till Friday, so no new lappy for Weekend....

So, picked up a cheap copy of COD: WW2 to pass the time.... having a blast with it right now... I thnk I am on level 12 now... no idea how to play the map, but sort of slowly learning the rope...
bought the season pass and tried to play the 2nd map... got killed badly... not sure if there is a level recomendation to play the next map...

    Anyone still play it?

If anyone is interested there is a COD BLOPS 4 open beta (read demo) happening this weekend. The demo is of the new Battle Royal mode only. The times are a bit weird for us Perth folk. Starts 1am Sunday and ends 1am Tuesday. I believe pre-loading is open for all platforms right now.

I haven't touched a COD game in years however the promise of a well optimised BR game is enough to draw me in. PUBG is a lot of fun but it runs like dog shit. Coupled with how I have lost complete interest in the Battlefield series means I am genuinely looking forward to this, well playing the demo at least. I don't know if I'll be willing to pay the $90 for the full game.

playing the COD WW2 only for the Zombie games...

tried to play the campaign and ended up being bored with it after the first few rounds... maybe hoping a new L4D will release again

This one doesn't even have a campaign. Just the standard online multiplayer, zombies, and the new Battle Royal.

Are you sure? I used an online time zone converter as I always screw time zones up:

Los Angeles (USA - California) Saturday, 15 September 2018 at 10:00:00 a.m. PDT UTC-7 hours
Perth (Australia - Western Australia) Sunday, 16 September 2018 at 1:00:00 a.m. AWST UTC+8 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Saturday, 15 September 2018 at 17:00:00

    https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclo...&p1=137&p2=196

    https://www.callofduty.com/blackops4/beta

I'm going off the open beta times. I haven't pre-ordered so don't have early access.
