We rode push bikes and rode them accordingly.
When I was a kid we used to jump off our bikes and see how far they would go on their own...proper chromed steel wheels and welded frame, none of this alloy stuff....try that today and see if your bike survives.

Of course in your day there weren't bikes with two wheels the same size were there? 'Safety bikes' they used to be called, the ones like we ride today, because they were so much safer than the penny farthing ones like you used to ride.
Must have been a bastard dodging the horse shit on one of those things, riding 600 miles to school in the snow, uphill both there and back.

I had a Raleigh. Way after Penny Farthings.
    Only lived 750m from school.
But we did know we were only push bike riders and rode on the road with that at the forefront of our minds.
As 7 year old we did long distance on country roads.
We moved to the gravel and kept peddling when we heard a vehicle coming from behind.
    We were really smart.

Unbelievable 7 year olds in the 60s were smarter Cunts than the Road Toad adults of today.

Coz some of them think they now have complete right to the road and vehicles should slow down to 10kph when coming to a blind corners because they could be wobbling around in the middle of the road...

Then the fuckers ride up the Zig Zag, as in against the one way flow and wonder why they get abused and forced off the road when a vehicle comes down...

    Iím not even joking...

Always bound to be a few flogs who think they can do what they want and Iím all for those cocks getting what comes at them in spoonfuls.

I have footage on the helmet cam every day where a cage violently swerves out about 6M in to the other lane to really ensure they are over 1M rule. Its just ridiculous

Problem is these flogs only crawled out from there rocks when the law was brought in...

Before that they stayed well out the way so as not to get run over...

So now the arrogant fucks think they wonít get run over because there is a law...

Errr...you know the saying about being right...dead right...

Did a canning dam south run a couple of weeks ago and was surprised how nice and single file all of them were.

Only to have have one day later, 3 mamils post coffee pull in front of my ute on Hampden Road, one no hands, 3 abreast slow as fuck chatting right up to the hospital T junction.

2 bus stops and parking bays they could have pulled into to let cars past but no, it was FKU.

Being a christian cyclist myself, I patiently followed them up the road. No agression, nothing.

Happy in the knowlege that that they thought their shit didn't stink but the world knows otherwise.

    Hey Pub.

My 13yr old son told me he was playing a game online with the mother of one of his friends at school. So I played this song when we were having dinner.

Does this make me a bad parent?

Teenagers can wear you down if you're not careful - I deal with one at home and dozens at school so I'm acutely aware of the dangers. Obscure references (obscure to them) do ward off the drudgery. I'm in favour. I often direct students into my class by loudly declaring "Cross over, children. All are welcome. All welcome. Go into the light", or "We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own"...

I have a student with a weird resemblance to Dustin Hoffman, but The Graduate soundtrack would be considered a step too far.

My uncle used to tie me up with gaffer-tape, hands and feet, when baby-sitting me as a kid. He would put a knife in the opposite corner of the room and see how long it would take me to get there and cut myself free as he watched the cricket on TV.

One of mine kept whining about something so I put him in a wheelie bin. Didn't close the lid though, that would be inappropriate parenting.

Two more flogs going up the Zig Zag this morning...

A whole pelathon taking up a lane on the Weir road...

And the really fun shit, cars on my side the road because they are overtaking bikes and the law now says they can...

Iím serious...these cunts are looking at me and crossing the double whites to give the bikes 1/1.5 metres, so Iím having to hug the gutter so as not to die...

If thereís a bike on my side when that shit happens theyíre going in the ditch not me...

The bikes ARE going to lose every time when shit goes down...
