Yeah, I'm trolling the gun-nuts and posting dubious and unconfirmed sources; but it IS interesting.

The "good guy with a gun" seems to only take out the "bad guy with a gun" after they start running away - which is probably a very smart move. And yet they didn't STOP the shootings.

It was unarmed people who stopped shootings, at risk of their own lives, and who saved many.

The most recent incident is a case in point. Teacher saved many lives (including the shooter, a minor apparently) by tackling and disarming him. Imagine the same scenario if a teacher in a classroom of 12 year olds started shooting back?

Yeah, the same old elephant raises it's weary fuckin' head - USA, your gun-culture and availability is sick, but you won't do anything about it.

Thankful I can send my child to school here without having to consider the likelyhood of him being shot at.

In a country with more guns than people it is irresponsible to not carry a gun.

    The end.

Can't disagree with that (altho, yes I can based on the articles I linked - the only thing more gun ownership guarantees is more gun deaths. But yes, the US has created an almost unsolvable problem for itself, the only workable answer being the unavailability of ammunition at this point). Hence I am grateful to live here and would resist any effort to relax OUR firearm laws.

Haven't tried one yet. A lot of people are just buying the foil and an old secondhand formula board. The board doesn't have to be fancy because its just a platform, needs to have a deep tuttle finbox in good condition though. For the reasons you point out I decided to buy the full kit so everything is set up and in the right place.

Interesting that Trump quickly congratulates the teacher that took down the shooter but not the Waffle House person who took down the shooter and then gave donated money to the victims families.

Hey, speaking of! I took my daughter shooting a few days ago. She loved it so much I had to take her back again the next day. Loved it! Now she'd designed her own target to bring for the next time. It's going to be priceless to see the looks on the range officers face when I put up a rainbow coloured hand-drawn love heart.

i go shooting with my daughter every now again too, quite the quality family time, on fortnite. and if ive learnt anything about guns from that is you dont want a grey one. purple or gold is better and if you get killed you just go back to the lobby.

but then thats just pretend ay

i tried to shoot someone the other night with a blue light machine gun from about 10 feet away and totally missed with the whole magazine ( its the mouses fault ) . they then shot me once i died, right there, dead. they then gave me a slow hand clap and busted a awesome emote move.

    shit game.

So was there a story on Fortnite aired the other day?? It all becomes clear.

Started getting emails on sunday after a school dad decided to group email 49 other dads about the problems he is having with his son playing Fortnite, can't stop him etc etc. Now getting all the replies, oh wow, me too, how do we fix this , should we get the school involved, etc etc.

My sons both play it, I play it with them when I can (actually prefer PUBG!!) but FFS your the parent. Turn the fucking thing off. Now i'm no father of the century but both my boys know I have no problem walking up to the xbox and turning it off whether they are in the middle of the game or not. They play it a fair bit, but we have groundrules. Why the fuck can we not actually take responsibility for our own actions anymore!!

I took my kids to an indoor shooting range in California when they were about 8 and 11 years old. There was some sort of age limit but 7 year old was huge so he looked like a 12 year old so it was all good. Until the guy behind the counter heard him speak and asked how old he was. I said "He's seven", the exclaimed "Woah! Hold everything I didn't realise he was that young. We have limits you know. Now we're not going to let him to shoot a machine gun". We were the only people there so he gave us the hand guns and ammo and headed to the car park for a smoke. Duty of care done and dusted.

Yup. Easy access to guns has nothing to do with it at all...

edit: because mass slaughter with a gun is easy. In my youth I shot rabbits, 'roos, and ducks. Everything from a 410 single shottie, through a .222 and a semi-auto 12 gauge. But one of the hardest moments was dispatching a 'roo that had been hit by a truck or car and the cowards left the thing on the road with it's legs hanging off. All I had was a hatchet with which I caved it's skull. You still haven't 'fessed up about whether you think Sandyhook was a hoax as you implied but never had the courage to answer. I don't like this shit going unanswered, that's my thing.

Point being; it's EASY to shoot things - THAT is the problem. And if anyone could have a gun then the police will be as scared as a soldier in a war-zone - boom, toxic and scared society.

Oh, and it makes you famous for being a completely cowardly douche.

There's more than enough gun toting idealists in americar, for the cops to be right in assuming that pretty much anyone who they come across is armed and dangerous, add to that, the id better shoot them first to make sure they're no longer threat policy. I truely believe that the Americans are the most dangerous race on the planet

Nah. It's gotta be one of the African races. You can't tell me you'd rather chill out in the Congo or Uganda or whatever than go to USA. That's bullshit.
