I thought more about your original comment and what I think is you are referring to Government rather than race, in which case I agree. But you used the word 'race' which implied the citizens/people and I don't agree that they are the most dangerous. Absolutely the government. The people though, for the most part, are sheep. That's what gives the government its power. Wait, am I contradicting myself since Government is powerless without the people... oh lordy lord

Unless you disable Java in your Acrobat settings, in which case you can continue to read for as long as you so desire.

Printing to pdf doesn't always work. Turning off java in the reader does though.

The reason I don't watch or listen to the news.

It has to be pretty damn good to even rate a mention.

That's pretty cool. It will be interesting to see how they get them out. At least they should be physically comfortable from here on.

'sup. Rather than pollute the forum with a thread that will likely only get a few replies thought I'd try my luck here first.

I fortuitously met someone working on the house next door who charges reasonable rates for carpentry work. So I have finally set the wheels in motion for replacing the wood on my weatherboard house, and in due course, getting it painted. Am intending to replace some barge boards, some cladding and some windows as sanding back may not be economic/worthwhile and not guaranteed the wood was still in good enough shape for the paint to stick for any reasonable amount of time which is why I've sat on it for so long - I just needed a lead to get started which came to me the other weekend. Luckily I'd say half of the existing wood is salvageable though.

So this brings me to my question - does anyone know of good, reputable companies who build wooden window frames without charging an arm and a leg? The quote for replacing the barge boards came in very reasonable, am awaiting the cladding quote and so now just looking around for window frame quotes. Will likely need 3 window frames replaced. May be a restoration company or a building company... not sure where to start, hence the query. Oh, and will need to be cool working with asbestos - another reason I've sat on it for so long figuring many companies won't touch the job.

    TIA

Outside walls apparently are, inside is gyprock. House was built in about 1945.
Had an air con installed last winter - they confirmed it's asbestos.
